Default Easy Spark Plug Tool?

I just purchased a KLX 250s and was looking at the spark plug tool that came with the bike. Almost impossible to use. Is there a better tool out there?

Thanks for the help

A regular spark plug socket should work with any ratchet.

Basically this

I find the OEM one easier to use than my ratchets when the tank, shrouds, etc are all on there.

Thanks for the tip. I appreciate your quick response. I was kind of thinking of some kind of light weight tool to carry on the bike. I was also looking in my service manual and noticed a Spark Plug Wrench listed as part # 57001-1024, but I have not been able to find the tool anywhere. The wrench is basically a socket with a u-jointedT handle. Would like to find one of these someday.

Still don't know why The OEM tool doesn't seem to fit. It seems to long?

Again thanks for the help. This Forum is fantastic!

I was thinking about picking-up a U-jointed T-handle for mine. I think I might still have one laying around, but I'm not sure if it's the right size. You've peaked my interest though, so I'll have to try that tomorrow and let you know how it works

Yes, that's pretty much the idea, but the one I used for my scooter had more of a bar for the handle portion. I'll see if I can dig it up tomorrow morning and maybe snap a pic.

Yea that will work, if you want to take off the tank every time.[:@] Why did they make this plug so hard to get to?

Iuse a stubby 1/4" and 3/4" ratchet handle with a universal joint and standard spark plug socket. It fits in easily without removing anything, and the ratchet is fine enough that it doesn't need a very long swing. Definitely much better than the stock spark plug tool!

This looks pretty good to me. Did you find it at the Kawasaki site?
