Default Dynojet 2206 vs 2152 for an '06

What is the actual differences between the Dyno Jet 2206 and 2152? I am looking to jet my ’06 and I currently have a UNI air filter and will have a KDX220 snorkel on it. Sounds like the 2206 gives more midrange power but is slightly harder to install? I would prefer more low to mid range power as that’s what I use most.

If I do the 2152 it sounds like I should do the STG 2.

If I do the 2206, should I also do the STG 2?

The 2206 kit has the DNO352 needle. It is designed for lidless KLX300R's. It also has a drill bit for drilling the slide lift hole (never, ever, do that..)

The 2152 kit has the DNO228 needle. It is designed to work with KLX250's with the lid on the airbox - snorkels or not.. It has a softer slide spring also..

Anyone running a snorkel, has only one "best" choice - the 2152 kit installed as per its' instructions.

I'm running the 2152 in my 2006 with a Twin-Air filter and the snorkel removed (but still have the lid installed). Everything else is oem and it runs great, way better than the stock jetting!

2152 kit, Stage one or two? which works best? Running KDX 200 Snorkel and have slightly opened up OEM exhaust.

Depends on the altitudes you'll be operating at.

Near sea level - try stage II first, then stage I
Always above 3000 ft ASL - try stage I first..

What negative effects if any will result from stage 2 jetting? And how will I know if it is the best setup once I doi it? Will I need any new gaskets to do this install?

No "gaskets" are involved - Only parts needed will be those you accidentally destroy during the wrenching session - so don't destroy parts..
No negative effects with either stage - only the ones you may introduce while attempting to install the kit.. If your bike runs perfectly fine now, it will run better after the kit is installed - else you screwed something up doing the work. Lots of peeps have screwed up a kit install and had to go back in over and over until they got it right - don't be one of those peeps..

Don't forget that your air filter must be like new and lightly oiled - very lightly oiled - do not run around with a faulting, performance killing, air filter...

If you like the results of Stage II, keep it in.. If you are the type that must choose the best setup of the two, try stage II first - set up a "test loop" that encompases all the type of riding you do, ride the loop as much as you need to in order to fully "understand" how your bike performs.. Then swap to Stage 1 and ride the loop with it - ride it exactly the same way as you did with Stage II - you'll know which stage you like best by the end of the first loop..
