Doubletake Mirror
 

Anyone seen or tried these units? I busted the perch mount for my left mirror and am darn surprised the right one is still holding on. Replacements are in order. I've used the RAM mounting system for GPS on the motorcycle, snowmobile, fourwheeler, and mountain bike and the things have been rock solid. I think I'm going this way unless someone here has tried and claims they are suckdom. Please let me know.

That's the first time I have seen those. Look nice, kinda pricey, but maybe they're worth it.They look pretty indestructible. I have the Ken Sean mirror, and like it well enough. I think it was $20.

Mirrors can be funny things and can involve some real preference. After putzing with mirror systems of many types and styles, I've found all of them to be relatively useless on a single cylinder motorcycle, even on smooth pavement. The only setup I've found to work with any degree of true visibility is the Honda XR650L isolated mirrors. That little rubber mount in the handlebar stalk actually allows the mirror to be quite decent in its image results. I've used this on my KLX and KLR's.

What do I do when I go off road? They both pop off easily with a 12mm wrench that's readily accessible in the hydration pack or luggage pack, and the mirrors stow in the rear rack pack. Sounds like lots of trouble? Not really. And you have mirrors that you can actually see out of when you really need it...and I've found being able to see what's behind me to be more of an issue on the KLX when I hit a higher speed section of pavement, and cagers are bearing down on my 65 mph cruising KLX.

Now, if all you're looking for is to be street legal when necessay, then I'd just install the cheapest folding mirror to be had and be happy. I've yet to see a folding mirror and even most bolt-on mirrors that are really, really good at providing good rear vision due to vibration. But...maybe it's just a matter of all the balancer chains having fallen off on all the singles I've owned.:D

I'm thinking of getting these from Highway Dirtbikes for my SF, but probably keep my current mirrors.

Did you get them? Are you running them in the stock perchs or did you buy the extra bracket and use those?

got 'em on my KLR and love 'em. wouldn't use anything else now.....

edit: make sure to only use the short ram arms

I have one Double Take on the right side to protect the Master Cylinder.

I like it. Will probably get another for the left side.

I used the 3 inch mounts.
