Dealer's Dyno Run(Nobrakes U back yet?)

Not on my plugged up bike, but his D-tracker.

His modifications are as follows:
-Air box lid removed.
-Nassert full race exhaust system.
-#135 Main Jet
-Pre 2001 KLX250R CDI

Power reading was 24PS which converts to 23.7HP. The HP curve didn't drop-off so drastically at 9,000RPM either...at 10,000RPM, it had only dropped ever so slightly from the peak value at 8,500RPM. Since this is a D-tracker, we aren't getting the loss you had from the knobbies. It would be interesting to see what your 330cc would read with your carb in it's dialed-in state and a street tire on the rear rim.

One thing I didn't mention. The baseline run for a stock D-tracker was about 20HP, which would indicate that the bikes here in Japan have a few more ponies in stock form than the stateside version.

RE: Dealer's Dyno Run(Nobrakes U back yet?)

I got back last night. If I do another dyno run, I'll replace the knobbies with something more appropriate for the street before I do it. I might also consider putting the 49 tooth rear sprocket on, as from what I hear that makes a difference on these machines as well. It shouldn't ... but it does, due to the way they work.

BTW, regarding my running rich with the new carb, I've dropped a few jet sizes which seemed to help, then I pulled my airbox snorkles leaving the two large holes in the airbox lid, one from the original hole and the other because I did the double snorkle mod. That seems to put it much closer to where I think it should be - making better power all around. But I still have a little bit of sputtering. I'm still waiting on the needle that the ThumperTalk jetting guy recommended and I'll try that before making any more changes. The sputtering seems to be in an area where the needle will have some effect.

I'm starting to think we need more air!
