Yeah, the newer ones have the wider rims. I don't remember which year it changed. Mine came with 17x4.00 Excel rims.

The widest I've seen people comfortably go with here in Japan is 4.25 (laced to the stock hubs or bought as a complete assy from AFAM). That width allows them to go with the 150/17 Michelin Pilot Power on the back. I'm running with the 140/17 Pilot Active right now...it wears a bit slower and I haven't had any traction issues what-so-ever. They are good on wet roads as well.

yes, these rims are straight and true, ready to have tires mounted. You will want to have the balance checked with tires on. And yes, they have the KLX250S hubs. they will also fit KDX220, I believe Kawi used the same hub for both bikes. On the hub is the part number R1237 cast into the center. Check yours, it should be the same. 150 is the largest you can fit without rubbing the chain, AFAIK. Everyone over here in Japan runs 140's and 150's, with 120 front.

Putting up a factory D-Tracker DAMOS slip on and stock header next week. It sounds really good, but I am putting on a full Delta exhaust system along with my 331cc kit and KLX300 jet kit.
