CVK carb question

I have a CVK off a KLX300 that i bought ($40.00) for spare parts and to try cutting a couple of coils off the spring to see if there is quicker throttle response. The dealer says that they are the same carb with different main jets. After some comparisons the only difference I see is that the Klx250 carb has a little black box that is directly under the choke pull and appears to be some sort of electrical connection. The KLX300 is lacking this and has a metal cap at this location.
Does anyone have any idea whatpurpose thatblack connector serves?

RE: CVK carb question

The little black box is the throttle sensor, used for retarding the timing. That lets us use regular fuel. Most say they can't tell a difference when unplugged.

Thanks Tony,
Ok then, other than the lack of the throttle sensor and a stock 128 main jet on the KLX300 CVK, are there any other differences? I am asking because this 300 carb is in great condition and when I do the 340cc kit would there be any advantage to using this carb? Or should I just use its 128 main and cut a couple of coils off the spring? Remember I am at about 7600 ft. and the stock 118 main works fine the way I am set up now.

Hey, if any of you pumper installers have a T-handle mixture screw for the CVK I would be interested in purchasing it. Or where can I order one?
Thanks in advance.

According to the the Kawi web site, the needle jet(probably larger) is a different size. Other than that, trial and error on the high elevation jetting. Did you drill out the slide valve in conjunction with the spring snip?

I'm fairly sure that the t-handle fuel screws for the CV carbs are coning from http://koubalink.com/.

Not sure what the part number is, but this should get you closer.
