Default Compression test

Getting a compression reading of 124PSI . 2009 KLX250s with a BB 351 kit, snorkel off, slight mod to the can, throttle WFO. I did not disable the auto compression release, as some folks have said is needed to get an accurate reading. Cranks over normally and runs well. I did not see in the shop manual the the compression release has to be disabled to get an accurate reading, and this is what a Kow dealer tech said also. Any thoughts, comments?

Runs well, no good reason for the test in my mind. How often do you take apart your carburetor to see if the jets are clean? Never! Bike runs good, no problems, why look for trouble when there is none? 124 is probably reasonable by any means.

The bike would not start and had only 50psi compression so I a new top end,(dealer). reuns great now but I wanted to get a baseline on the new parts.
