Compatible exhaust / header question

Compatible exhaust / header question
I've got a lot from this forum so thanks everyone. Just did the Krieger CCT and I had no idea what a difference it would make - the engine puts now instead of sounding like a blender with bolts in it.
I am doing the other mods on this site and want to slap on a KLX300 header for increased airflow but haven't been able to find out what years fit. I have an '06. Figured I'd follow that up with an aftermarket slip on which should just fit fine on the KLX300 header and mate up with my KLX250s frame right?

header will fit but you will need a klx300 exhaust. I have both a klx300 header and an aftermarket can. I had to fab a custom bracket to mount the can to the frame.
edit...the aftermarket can only had one mounting point to the frame. I added aluminum bar stock to the stock mounts to strengthen the single mounting point.

Narfle, the entire 300 system will bolt on - BUT the individual components are different.
You run into real fitment problems when you mix-and-match 300 and 250 exhaust components - so don't do it. If you want details, I can give them to you - I presently own both bikes..
In a nutshell: Use a KLX300 header - you'll be using a KLX300 slipon - stock or aftermarket. The only advantage is price(not performance) - If you can get a complete KLX300 system cheaper than a 250 slipon, you win.. The KLX300 stock silencer is easily "uncorked" by just removing the "butt plug" at the end and, uncorked, it will perform similarly to a 250 header+slipon..
