Clutch Switch Tip
I couldn't find any info on the clutch switch other than people disabling it. So today I fixed the kickstand switch by plugging the wires into themselves and figured I'd do something with the clutch switch too as I put on an MSR Pro Raptor shorty clutch setup and it doesn't have the provisions for the safety switch. Anyway to disable the clutch switch you could cut the wires and splice them together or for a much cleaner job pull the fairing off and just unplug it and tape up the empty connector. While this works so long as the kickstand switch is disabled this will only allow you to start the KLX in neutral anyway. The starter won't actually function so no worry about draining the battery trying if you aren't paying attention.
Got any pics of the new clutch lever?
I still havent disabled the clutch switch yet, but I did do the kickstand switch like you said. I might have to trace the clutch wires to their connectors and try that.

This is good to know that you dont have to splice together, butif it means only starting in neutral Iwould still rather splice. If you stall it on ahill, planted over the bars & barley keeping the bike from rolling downhillon your tip toes the last thing I would want to do is try to find neutral just to get the thing restarted.
The way I looked at it was if I'm stalled in a nasty situation.......I was probably in the wrong gear to start with. I could always get a connector from radioshack and make it a jumper. I'll get some pics of the installed goodies tomorrow when I go back and tinker some more.
with the clutch switch i got some speaker wire and taped it across both wires to complete the connection all the time. i taped it up real goodthen i ziptied the wire back to the bar.. should i assume that this essentially the same as splicing the wires together and does that connection always being on drain the battery?
ORIGINAL: KLXer

When I first did mine, I just unplugged the wires. But starting in neutral only becomes a real PAIN. So I then hooked them up so that it can start at any time. I'm much happier now!
