Clutch life expectancy
Exactly. The guy before me replaced the clutch after a few thousand miles. I've installed a bore kit, pumper carb, pipe, etc., and I have the same clutch after many, many more thousands of miles since with no indication of slippage. I probably ride in harder places and conditions than that previous owner rode in, but I don't have to abuse the clutch with the way I ride. There are huge variables in the way people ride and treat their bikes.
Hmmm...ok. Asking because today I've noticed the clutch slipping a little. Still need to inspect the cable, thou. My bike has almost 48,000km, in 2 years. I wheelie a lot, too. But I don't think that puts much strain on things. At least it doesn't feel like it does.
I'll inspect the cable and lube it. The past couple of months I rode a lot under rain conditions. If it's not that, any other thing I should look at before I decide I need a new clutch? Thanks.

Got a link for those springs? I don't have a 351, but I don't have a stock bike either. I am thinking the stronger springs will help with the wheelies, too, right?
Yup, I also gotta check the freeplay.

These barnett HD springs are available on ebay by 3 or 4 reliable sellers.

They stopped my slight slipping problem after I fitted my big bore kit....20 bucks well spent.
Beware of cheap oil which contain "friction modifiers", these can cause clutch slip on wet clutches.

Thanks, Joel. Nah, it's not the oil. I've been using Motul 3000 since the first change.
No, I haven't opened anything, yet. I´ll inspect, lube the cable, adjust the free play and go out for a quick ride in the afternoon. See if I notice any slippage. If I do, then time to open up.
