Clever new tech on the 2012 KX250F
The 2012 KX250F has just been announced and has some smart new tech: 2012 Kawasaki New Product Launch
...with added enhancements that give the KX250F even more usable power... For 2012, Kawasaki engineers sought to create a KX250F with even more impressive top-end performance, which they accomplished by equipping its Digital Fuel Injection (DFI) system with a second fuel injector ... located near the airbox intake. The all-new "upstream" injector helps build a wider and more potent spread of power as rpm climbs. The two fine-mist atomizing injectors that feed the 250cc four-stroke powerplant are distinct in appearance with different body sizes, but deliver the same per-cycle capacity. Together, Kawasaki’s dual injectors pack a one-two punch, delivering a second dose of fuel on acceleration to increase the high-rpm power and overrev capabilities of the KX250F. Features - Addition of second fuel injector helps build a wider spread of power - Unique Separate Function Fork (SFF) ... Ahh well, guess it'll just have to be "bold new graphics" for the KX again in 2012. |
Would be nice but it would also bring the cost of the KLX closer to the $7300 of the KX I am happy with the KLX and some mods.
Besides it seems to share the 1.9 gallon tank and anvil seat which are my two biggest complaints these days Cheers Jim |
sff seams to be hit and miss, some people love it, others stick to the tried and true. from what ive heard, you get a better feel, its more planted, even with stiffer springs (think bubba needs theses lol). the up stream injector seams like i good idea, but the difference will probably be little. if your looking for new tech, check the new 450, its all new from the frame up. even comes with a launch control stock.
