Default Chain breaker or not?

Well first of all I desided to start my weekend sprocket and chain change over project early this afternoon. I got my shiny new quick lift stand and bent the handle/lever first use . Anyway I got the rear sprocket on, but I'am struggling to get the chain link to move do I need a chain breaker? I know I could just cut the chain, but is the new chain link going to be as hard to get on as this is to get off?

no you dont need a chain breaker... its just snapped on, its a pain but it will come off.... and yes the new master link will be tight going together... i use pliers to snap the clip back on. put one side of the pliers on the pin and the other side on the end of the clip.

There was a great post on here about chain removal & master link technique. It had great Pictures and information. Unfortunately, The search feature is not working at this time but do a search for it when it's fixed.

Yea the master link is your friend. I can take off and put on my chain in less than a minute. Its easy. Just make sure the open of the clip is facing toward the back of the bike.

Got the old master clip off, it must have been somehow seized on cause I had to push off one of the pins in the master clip. Thought I should replace the old 603's with some new tyres got some ac10's put on at the local shop. I got home put the tyres on and cut down the new chain, this master clip was easy as. Anyway job done thanks for the help!!! BTW great how to write up Kawi Wawi.
