Carb swap idea'r

Because I like to putter on my bikes I've been thinking of swapping a drz400 carb into my '14 klx, mukini brs36 iirc. Call me crazy but I like cv carbs on dual sports, easy to jet, good enough performance, reliable etc. after reading every klx carb thread on the internet I haven't seen anyone swap on a 36mm cv. So I think I'm going to do this. It should be easy to find a carb as guys are swapping in pumpers.
The idea came to me reading about folks swapping in 40mm cv's into their drz's with good performance gains, why not a 36 into a klx??

Thoughts?

Having pumpers on a couple of Husabergs - I hate em.. Abrupt power hits with every twist down low.. The CV offers a smooth power delivery. I'd consider dyno testing it for you if you find a good running setup for it.

But klxster...you're talking about an abrupt hit on a bike like a Husaberg that has a good deal of power already on tap. The KLX needs every bit of abrupt power it can get.:D

OP, if a 36mm Mikuni pumper works great on a KLX, if you can get the thing fitted up I can't see why a 36 CV couldn't be made to perform cleanly with enough dinking with it. Never heard of this setup on a KLX, so you'll probably be plowing all the ground yourself. If you try it, keep us up on how it goes. Sounds interesting.

Yep, your right.. Drawing from the 'Bergs and applying to a KLX (w pumper) is wrong thinking... I wonder if a 36 is good for another few HP up top - but I also worry you'd loose TRQ..
