Default Cams worn out

Hi Everyone-lucky me-both cams measured below the manual out of service limits (36.15 mm), one cam lobe at 36.08, the other cam lobe at 36.07. So, new cams are on order ($$$) and I will be running a good full synthetic oil to ensure better reliability from this point forward. I don't know what the previous owners used but I want to protect this investment in parts and labor (I am also replacing the cam sprockets, cam chain and tensioner, Krieger's).

I will be removing the KACR since I will also be doing the MCM mod while re-installing all the top end parts and I wanted to know the options for removing the whole assembly. I experimented with my worn cam and could not push it out of the end even after soaking it with Aerokroil and using a properly sized punch and large hammer. Keep in mind that I was not interested in salvaging the cam since it is shot. After carefully examining the end of the camshaft, it looked to me that the ACR is actually welded to the end of the camshaft and would have to be cut off. There is plenty of room to use a grinding wheel and stay away from the last lobe and journal with the grinding wheel. Before I install the new camshaft, I would like to have a plan for dis-abling or preferably removing the ACR so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

The KACR should pop off with enough force applied, it's just a press fit. It is not welded on from the factory.
There used to be a thread that showed how to do it (I think Brewster posted it).

Fortunately, Someone found the archived version of PlanetKLX. The original site is gone. Here's what you need to know about removing the ACR:
