Default Call me stupid...

As the majority here know, I've been studying my mpg. Well today I decided to check my air pressure, 25ish in the front...15 in the rear, it all makes sense, rear end is loose in the turns and my mpg sucks....god tire pressure, so obvious.

Of course you're stupid. Everyone knows that God tire pressure is better than earthly air pressure any day.

What does the manual suggest as tire pressures for the SF? 25 sounds high for the front. But your average is great. 25 + 15 = 40 / 2 = 20.

'09 S pressures are 21F 21R (25R with passenger).

For good street riding i would run both around 30psi. Thats usually what i have in my KLR. KLX gets 12ish.

My SF handles best with psi 33F & 35R. When they drop below 30 I can tell in the fast corners!

That's with pirelli diablo rosso tires fitted btw..... size 110F/140R.

A LOT depends on the kind of riding you do, AND what kind of tires you're talking (*****--dual sport--street?) regarding tire pressure. If you're off road, you probably don't want really high tire pressure for several reasons; better grip, better "float" and absorption of shocks to the tires, etc. If you're ON road, a bit higher pressure is good to keep the tires cooler, better handling (less wallowing), tire wear, and general safety in the corners (tires popping the bead, etc.)

i just keep it at the recommended 29 psi front and 33 psi rear for the sf...i guess it's a good thing, but i've never had the tire pressure drop..always exactly the same...
