Will any 21 front rim like pro wheels or excel lace up to the stock hub and spokes? all the parts websites don't show anything for klx250s, can i just get a rim listed for CRF or something more popular and lace it up? also any one know anything about these? kinda look like their too cheap to be strong.

Spoke count on the ordered rim needs to match hub spoke count. After that, you can lace them any way you desire.

I like the black rims, not too much of the gold...

Smile Black Rims

I bought the black rims from RAD Manufacturing USA. MX Motocross Wheels, Dirt Bike hubs, DID DirtStar, Excel rims, Spoke Sets, 5 types of Billet hubs for many applications, Street Bike, Supermoto, Flattrack, Vintage, and we cover all popular brands. with stainless spokes for my red '09 KLX250s

Default Pics with black wheels

Here are the pics installed. This is hubs, rims and spokes from RAD, EBC Supercross Contour MD6330C and MD6326C rotors. One set for dual sport tires and one set for off road.

I think the eBay rims you linked to are steel, not aluminum, that's why they are so cheap. They look just like the rims on an old XR100 I once had. I'd steer clear of them, but that's me.

You need 36-hole rims to work with the KLX. 18 X 2.15 rear and 21 X 1.60 front. Be careful with motocross rims like CRF-R rims, as the rears are 19" and not 18". CRF-X rims will work. When looking for rim applications, use something like a KDX200 or KLX300 - the rims are the same.

Some Excel rims, like their A60's, require special spoke nipples and a special tool to install them. The Excel Takasago's that come stock on the KLX do not. I know a guy that has Warp 9 rims and is happy with them. You can use your stock spokes and nipples with Warp 9's, and they run about $100 each (Excel Takasago's run about $160 each).
