Barkbusters Handguard Instalation probleme cause of stock handlebar
Lets get to the point, i bought these nice handguards :
Barkbusters VPS Handguard for 7/8 I also bought the supermoto sliders to go with em and the endbars weight for looks. I tried installing em tonight on Stock handlebars.. OOPS no go .. Theres an insert inside the stock klx250s 2012 and so I cant bolt these on unless I remove this insert and so my question is... is it possible to remove it ? It seems like there's 3 welds on the outside, if I buff em off will the insert come out ? Or do I have to just buy a nice new handlebar with grips.. ? Oh and ya.. what is the easiest way to remove the handgrip on the clutch side.. ? Thanx Ps: my english aint so great because i'm french .. sorry folks :p |
Air pressure will remove the left grip.
Some have trimmed the bars right after that welded in piece in the stock bars. Better to replace the bars with a new pair, stock bars bend if you look at them wrong! |
This has been talked about quite a bit in other threads. I've heard a few different methods, one that comes to mind is using a Dremel on the welds.
|
I just tapped it
|
I ground the welds down and blew the plugs out with compressed air.
|
i ground the welds off (they are just tacked on)
then i drove a wood screw in the end and pulled it out with a hammer worked like a charm :) |
