RE: Marty, THANKS!!

The Acerbis catalog I have lists the following, which one is it?

MODEL YEAR COL. CAPACITY ITEM

KLX 650 R 93-99 Green 17 l 0001591.130.
KLX 650 C 93-97 Black 19 l 0001592.090. ltd. edition
KLX 250 C/R 93-96 Green 14 l 0001594.130.
KLX 300 97-04 Green 14 l 0001594.130.
KLX 400 04 White 16 l 0001604.030
KLX 400 04 Black 16 l 0001604.090
KLX 400 04 Yellow 16 l 0001604.060

I am guessing the third one, but that link says 1594030, is it a typo, and is it really the third one down or the 5th one down?

Tank-Green-KLX250:93-96/300:97-04 is the one on the Ride Now site.

So, either KLX 250 C/R 93-96 - Green - 14 l - 0001594.130. - or KLX 300 97-04 - Green - 14 l - 0001594.130. should fit just fine.

On the part number issue, I can't help.

Not meaning to rain on your parade, but I'm very unhappy with my Acerbis tank... [&:]
The gas in the wings cannot be used because it's below the petcock... There is almost .9 gallons in both wings... So effectively the tank is 2.8 usable gallons, plus .9 gallons of dead weight that you're carrying around for eternity.

Bastards won't respond to my complaints... I love Acerbis stuff but this ticks me off.
I'm waiting for the Clarke tank to come out.

Hey speaking of laying the bike over, I was in the bike shop yesterday and I was telling the mechanic and the parts guy about my discovery of running the gas out of the bike to get it to start easy the next time. They both said that something guys have been doing for years to get their bikes to start is from a cold bike, laying it sideways almost to the ground, and lifting it back up will cause the carb to overflow and jettison the gas in the bowl and then fresh gas is introduced, and then the bike will start right up. It made sense to me, and I also asked them ifmy method of running the gas out wouldbehard on the engine as it leaned it outand they both said no, that only applies to race bikes. So there you go.;)
