Default Acerbis 14 Litre fuel tank

Hi All, 1st post on this forum. Just bought a 2016 klx250s, carb model here in Australia.
The only tank for this specific model I can find is IMS 3 Gal, just a little small for me.
My question is can the 14lt Acerbis tank designed for klx250 / 300 '93-08 be made to fit?
I was reading somewhere that the radiator fan would need to be removed/relocated.
Thanks for any help

Might need some adjustment and fabrication for a few attachment points like the seat but I’m sure it could work

I've had the Acerbis on my '12 since 2013. Aside from a slight gap on the seat and needing to trim a small tab on the front of the side covers, it fits perfectly.

I have the black IMS 3 gallon on my carb 2009 SF model. I average 54 MPG...so that is a lot of range on a tank! How far are you going without a gas station?

I am using as a dual sport so can be as far as 260km - 280km between fuel stations in remote areas the 3 gal tank is not quite large enough, but they are not in stock with no ETA so I may have to settle for the 3 gal IMS (which is more expensive over here in AUS) and carry a small bladder.

A lot of folks use 1 litre bottles to add to capacity, and they make it easy to fill the tank. I've seen the soft ones, but while they fold to nothing when not in use, they seem to make a mess for most to use.

And there are a lot of ways to mount them if you do a quick search.
