First off, let me say that Northern NY sucks! You'll see why in the pictures...

First off look at how overcrowded it is, I mean seriously, look how close my neighbors are.

Heading down the road there is just nothing whatsoever to look at.
Attachment 29685

And the traffic, don't even get me started on how bad it is up here!

Dude, you're right, it does suck up there. I didn't see not even one Starbucks! WTF? ;)

Awesome Josh, man that blue sky looks nice. Its pouring down rain, and the beechnut tree in the front yard has dropped a million whatever you call them's all over the front yard. Its like mowing golf balls. I miss summer already, we actually only got about 6 really hot days, the rest of the summer was cloudy but not raining. Its all good though. Thanks for sharing man.;)

Nothing to see. You should visit the rest of America. More than half of it is nothing to see terrain. But somewhere along the way. Theres always a great truck stop that serves 16oz steaks in the morning, eggs & toasts is optional.

I really need to plan a trip back up to New York, by Lake Onieda.

BTW, its only 55 degrees out....was a bit chilled when I got home, huge mug of cocoa took care of that though.....hmm maybe a Starbucks wouldn't be so bad....

I'd like to go visit my relatives in SC on the bike taking the scenic route down US-11. It more or less follows I-81 down. The KLX can't take 1000 miles of interstate but surface roads it might be doable, maybe some 80/20 street tires and a small windshield? I've been going down almost every year for the past 5 years via plane or interstate, not much to look at but the odometer ticking over.

i see that with your gearing your running 4500 or soRPM's at 50 mph.. with the 14/49 that i run at 50 mph i'm running close to if not a bit over 6000 rpm's.

I do such a mix of riding that the 13/42 wasn't a very big advantage anymore. The guy I had been riding with took a new job that has him 5 hrs away during the week and he's only around on Saturday so I've been riding solo and didn't need the extra snap in the dirt anymore. The torque monster that isa Honda 650 gave him the advantage in the dirt when I had stock gearing before, the 13/42 helped.
