80% Street, 20% Dirt tires?

I want to ride my KLX250S from time-to-time this winter on the street for errands here and there. Can someone recommend a pair of good tires for mainly street use? I won't be riding in rain or snow, picking nice days when the roads are dry.

I run Kenda 270's, partly because they are cheap, partly because they are DOT-rated, and partly because when aired down they are almost like Trials tires. They are a bit slippery, well, more like squirrelly in hard turns on the street, at least partly due to the knobs being so deep. For a dual-sport tire, they are decent.

If you're really going to be mostly street, there are many other choices that may be better, but, not many that are going to be cheaper, or, can do so well in the dirt if aired down. Most street tires can get you through light off-road, so, maybe you'd really like to go to a 90% street tire?

Metzeler Sahara Enduro 3 they come in all sizes. I have never used a better tire for the street that will get you almost anywhere in the dirt too. Pic of these Meats on my bike below.

Thanks for the replies. I think the Kenda 761's should fit my needs. What are the sizes for the KLX250s?

I would run a K761 rear and K270 front. I wouldn't trust a 761 off road, and the 270 front is excellent on the street.

Your best bet size wise is to go with the stock size. You gain little by going up in size and it will be at the expense of some lost power.

I'll second the Kenda K270's

Just what I would get, YMMV.

I'd get 110/80-18 for the back, 90/90-21 front. But that's just my way. There is lots of confusion/opinions regarding tire sizing. I believe those sizes to be the closest to stock from Kenda's list.

Really appreciate the help sorting me out here. Not that it makes a big difference I would think but
120mm=4.72"
110mm=4.33

Technically the 4.72" would be a little closer to the stock 4.60 right? Just wondering if there is an advantage to the slightly thinner tire for street use?
