after how many miles?.....that's steel sprockets?...i notice it's a 13t...maybe you should go with a 15t to take some stress out and go bigger in the rear sprocket since you are getting a new chain and sprockets anyways....

There probably is 7-8K miles on that.

How did it look before 351?

About a month ago we were working on chain a sprocket designs in class... A text book rule of thumb was to never go below 17teeth, but that rule is violated almost everywere you go lol.

haha..... i dont know.. probably near end of its life. The worn sprocket and the extra power was not good.

Im going to try out 14-46 gearing.

That's how mine looked after only 2k miles. Cheap $9 13 tooth from bikebandit.

Let's hear how you like that. I have a 45 on rear, and 13,14,15 for the front with the 15 on right now.

Ill post it up, have to wait to order the chain until friday (payday). New brakes and sprockets on the way.

You'd have to see a pic of his worn sprocket next to a pic of a new one but the piece was totally worn out and was a failure waiting to happen 351 or not. I'm sure the added zip form his power up made it happen quicker but it was soon to fail. Heck much more wear and it would look like a wheel insead of a sprocket.

Yea... i actually thought something was wrong with the transmission... The chain skipping on the sprocket is a weird feeling. Had to really baby it to make it home.

I got over 13,000 on my sprockets, and they look brand new....???

Hmmm, could that be because 1) your chain has only seen grit a handfull of times, or 2) you need to open up that throttle! :D

uhhhhhhh Trust me I open it up, remember I'm the one that coined the phrase "the sweet spot is 7-8 grand". ;) As far as grit, I wash my bike after each ride......wait that's not helping is it.....LOL

I've had my 07 since June 08.

In that time, I've replaced the front and rear sprockets about four times each, and the chain the same amount of time.

I ride the crap out of my bike, and show it no mercy.

But I do keep up on the maintenance so it runs like a top :)

What a bunch of abusers...LOL
