Default 300R exhaust or the FMF Powercore

Thought I bought a stock 300R muffler and header off e-bay.
Just got it and it's a 300 header with an FMF exhuast.
Do I keep the loud FMF or sell it and get a 300R exhaust as I planned.
Now I need to break into the carb, ugh.

How much did that cost you?

Maybe you can sell the FMF and get the 300R muffler and buy something else with the money you made.

I would personally put the FMF pipe on.

Try the Powercore it will out perform the stock piece but will be louder.

I'll try it as soon as I get some carb parts.
I think I'll be glad I have no neighbors to hear it, I like the stealth factor of stock but performance is why they made earplugs!
Thanks for chiming in.

OK, I put the FMF on and it's LOUD! Holy crap!
Seems to run fine without any jetting, of course I haven't added more air or fuel so it should be fine, right?
Going to make a run for coffee, so I'll see how it runs on the road under load.
If it's not good, I'll put the stock back on until I get some new carb parts.
Now, where did I put that jar of earplugs?

I run a Powercore 4 on a DRZ, and it's much louder than the FMF pipes I've heard on the KLX. Only need earplugs when I do highway riding, because of the wind noise under my helmet.

Wow, way too loud, probably needs to be repacked, as it seems it's seen some good use. Anyone repacked their FMF? Just looked at the FMF website and it seems straight forward, just wondering if it might get more quiet.
People are turning their heads to see who is rolling by, and I think they are surprised not to see a Harley! I'm waiting for the blues to light up my rear views for a noise violation! If they do, I'm going to ask where were they during Bike Week?
Well, time to go ride some more in the woods and scare the crap out of the critters.
