2018 Klx250s speed not reading

Noticed the speed wasn't showing on the dash. It just reads 0. I took the speed sensor hub off and inspected it... It looks OK with the white tabs on the speed sensor in good health. Checked the wire connection at the dash which also appeared fine... Is there anything else anyone can think of I should check... Information seemed limited online

I did rotate the speed sensor in the hub using a flat head screw driver while the dash was on, but still got zero...

Hmmmm

The sensor is a Hall effect type with 3 wires. One wire is tied to ground, and another wire gets a 5V reference voltage from the instrument cluster. The third wire toggles between 5V and 0V as the sensor rotates. The manual shows how to verify if the speed sensor will do that. My schematic says the black/yellow is the ground. Looks like the green/red wire is the 5V reference, and the red wire is the signal back to the meter.

You are suggesting it is electrical? I wouldn't know where to start 😭

I replaced the rotating magnet in the speedo housing, but the reading is still unreliable
