Default 2016 KLX/D-Tracker - end of production?

I was going through some 2016 KLX250 Blogs and came across a final edition? It's in the official site to *Final Version of the KLX and D-Tracker* So no more KLX/D-Tracker after 2016?

Shame they can't write legibly - I can do better even without a fully developed language center..

Here, here. Im now thoroughly convinced the KLX 250 is the best thing since sliced bread. Properly piped and jetted, this bike is a BLAST in the woods, fire roads, trails, and you can transition SEAMLESSLY from woods to highways in an instant and not miss a beat.

This is the bike Ive been missing ever since I was a kid. Just have to be careful not to hurt myself! Despite all the talk of it being underpowered, when properly jetted you can EASILY get your self into trouble on the trails if you dont respect it. I did today. Took a hard fall, very close call.

I love the bike.

my love for my bike got bigger today after the cam mod since the intake now makes less noise and it has better torque and power
70mph is easy for it now even with the EU restrictive stock exhaust (have not tried top speed yet)

my next mod planned is an exhaust in the spring with some kind of EFI tuning either Reflash or powercommander

Do you mind trying top speed? Curious because some say it causes the top to fall off rather abruptly.

What was your top speed prior to the mod? Did you ever check it? Thanks

will try next weekend going on freeway for a bit while visiting some family
atm it is pulling better past 70 mph but i can tell the exhaust is very restrictive my guess is top speed atm is about 85-90 mph with my weight (107kg) and soft panniers

Don't hate me but I never cared much for the second generation plastic.

Wouldn't have been half bad if they'd just put a decent length motocross style rear fender on it. That was all I really wanted, not a boat tail (09-16) or one that looked broken (93-08 every KLX250/300/650).

I'm with you Mark. My first mod was cutting the whale tail off, then replacing it altogether.
That look is greatly improved by removing the stock light and plastic crap and replacing with the DRC Edge tail light.
I would love some black fork uppers and black rims.
Maybe I'll paint my frame Kawi green this winter...
That S model is also a kind of a throwback to the barbie era KLRs, minus the purple frame.
