2006 KLX 250 Carb installation confusion

So I just cleaned my carb and now I'm in the process of placing it back in but I somehow ended up with two extra hoses and I can't find where/if they attack anywhere... Are these needed? I also have no recollection on which hoses attach to the fuel petcock. Help would be appreciated thank you!

Here's the hose routing on my KLX300. I *believe it's the same as your KLX250:

Vent hoses, run down near the swingarm pivot/rear shock mount area:
Attachment 8140

Upper vent hoses, run above the frame, where the seat mounts:
Attachment 8141

Another view of the above mentioned hoses:
Attachment 8142

Where the fuel hose from the tank connects to the carb:
Attachment 8143

Hope this helps,

Brian

vtvette, that's awesome that you got pictures from your 300 posted so quickly for him!

The only thing I would add is that on my buddy's '06 (same hoses and routing as my '12), it did not have the "T" fittings and the vent hoses that you routed up to the frame.

Not sure if that was stock on your 300, but it is a common mod on the 250s, so the OP may or may not have the Ts and over the frame vent lines.

In vtvette's last (4th) pic, the OP may find that the upper vent fitting, up by the choke knob, to be clocked differently. The 06 and my '12 have that fitting pointing at the 4 'o clock position.

Lastly, to the OP, since you didn't post pics of the two extra hoses... could they be the two vent lines that attach to your fuel tank? Those are much fatter and heavier hoses than the carb vent hoses.

Hope that helps and WTG vtvette for getting pics up so fast - that can be a lifesaver!

Hey timc63, I've received soooo much help here that it's always nice when you can give back. Hose routing can be a difficult thing to describe so, I figured pic's would help the OP.

I had a feeling the "T" in the vent lines were a mod by a previous owner and not stock but, my KLX300 is the first KLX I've worked on so I had no other info to go on.

Thanks for helping out the op and clarifying my pic's.

Those "T" mods are primarily for deep water crossing so a vent remains when the swing-arm ends are submerged. If you don't do deep water crossings, the mod isn't necessary.
