12Oclock labs SpeedoDRD calibrater

Just thought I would give a quick review of the SpeedoDRD I have had on my bike for the past 10 month.
This device fits 09+ KLX250 with electronic speedometers.
It is very small (thumb nail size) and plug an play. No wire splicing, just plug it in.
Before installing the unit my speedometer was reading 9% high and the odometer read 3% high.
There is a little programing button you use to increase or decrease your spedometer reading by just about any % you like.
I set mine to reduce readings by 9% and now have a speedometer which is dead on accurate.
This unit also effects the odometer. My odometer now reads 6% low.
I haven't had to mess with it since installing last spring.
I found mine online for $70.00.

I just installed one of these over the weekend. Took literally 5 minutes! I like the fact it's not as bulky as the healtech speedo-healer. haven't calibrated it yet but seems like a nice product

Hmmm...$70 for that device or $130 or less for a full Vapor instrument panel. Not knocking that device at all, but I would have to consider the Vapor as an option at that price.

Is the Vapor a true "drop in" install ? Or is there some wonkey fitting, cutting and "adjusting" to make it fit and look good ?

Wildcard brings up a good point. I myself will keep the $70 and remember the speedo is 10% high.

What is involved in installing the vapor kit on an 09?

Not exactly plug and play. I myself would not do this to my 09, unless the factory display crapped out. Yeah it has a temp gauge, but the fan comes on by itself if needed.

Thanks for the review.

My speedo (2009) was off -9.7%. I did exactly as you did - fixed the speed, and left the odo to do whatever. My odo is only off about 3% now. I have had mine installed about 8 months. No problems so far. I really like being able to know how fast I'm going!

I can see how people balk at the cost (I paid $70 as well), but those are the things I buy when someone gives me "birthday money" or stuff like that... stuff I'd never devote my actual paycheck to. ;)

Don't you just love "birthday money" :D

I got mine for my Birthday also, almost 2 years ago.
