09 KLX Speedometer accuracy?

I endoed my husky demolishing the speedometer, and was wondering how accurate the klx250s speedometer is. I haven't had the opportunity to get the wife to drive next to me in her car so I need to get an idea what the 450 will be doing in mph/rpm wise in 6th to keep my throttle in check on the freeway/surface streets. Thanks

The KLX250 speedo is 5 or so mph off at higher speeds. When I am going 60 mph on the gps the speedo is showing 65 or 66 and I am doing a little under 7000 rpm.

Mine was 5mph off. If I was doing 50mph gps, the speedo is reading 55mph. And it becomes more off as you start to drive faster than 60mph. A little needle twiking fixes the problem.

If you change front tires to anything other than the same circumfrence of the stock tire, it will be even less accurate. I did and the GPS says mine is 7 mph off. I would get it re-calibrated if it could be done cheaply..but I haven't bothered to research it...I just ignore it.

Figure 10%.

4 at 40mph
5 at 50mph
6 at 60mph...etc...
