I just cannot get to like the new look, I like the looks of my 07. Wonder how long that lead for the digital speedo will last before it gets ripped out?

what's the difference in the lead between the old KLX and the new one?The cables are bothrouted the same way. It isn't in any more of a vulnerable position as your bike's cable is. What makes a difference if it's digital or analog, it's still routed the same way. Care to clarify something that I'm just not seeing? thx

ps. I love the look of the '07 as well and wouldn't rule out one if the price was right for a brand new one but the hard start really bugs me and I don't want to go down that road again.

IG,
I rolled by bike outside last Sunday to mount my skid plate. After getting it mounted I turned on the fuel, pulled the choke& hit the starter........10sec..sputter,sputter,vroom!

That was after sitting from tht 1st week of last Dec.

The 07 or the 09 will probally be the same but I must say the 09 pics are growing on me!

yeah, after I rejetted mine it would start up pretty good. But after winter break which was like 5 mos. with no start I had to hook it up to my van to get the juice needed to crank. It was a bear sometimes and really pissed me off. The DRZ otoh, was like an electric engine. Too bad one can't fit the DRZ engine with the KLX tranny into a KLX chassis. That'd rock. And no the 331 still wouldn't hold a candle to the DRZ's torque. A piped and jetted 40 rwhp DRZ makes a ton of torque. Why doesn't Suzuki update that bike? It could be the ds that everyone is after. New styling, 6-speed tranny, inverted forks, softer seat, 6-speed tranny. That's about it and it'd kill. [X(]

Being that the 09 doesn't have a rack on the back does anyone know if one can be purchased aftermarket or if an 07 rack will fit on an 09?

I held off on buying the KLX300 rear fender until I saw the 09 at the show.

I will be putting an 09 front fender on because my 06 is cracked and I don't like how far forward and down it goes. It will require inletting the bottom of the front plasticpiece.

I also plan to use just the green part of the 09 rear fenderto fab up a new much shorter rear end. I took close up pics and from what I can tell the fender attaches the same under the seat area. Can't wait to have a short green tail !!!

I maybe wrong but is it not two small gauge wires in sheathing going to the pick- up or speed sensor on the hub for the digital and for the analog in is a plastic sheath over metal sheath with the square metal drive cable in the center on the analog. From what I see in the picture it looks rather flimsy compare to what the analog has. I also have never had a hard start problem but I will say it takes awhile to warm up. What would you consider a the right price for and 07 new?
Factory Motorsports Oregon city Oregon has one for $3999 on cycle trader.com and they ship anywhere.
