Default 06 klx250 I want to put on a q4 exhaust

Hi guys!

First post on here I’m usually just trolling around looking for answers. I have however, come across something that I can’t find an answer for. I’d like to put a FMF Q4 on my bike but they are discontinued for 06-07 models and I can’t find them anywhere! My question is does anyone have experience fitting an 09-14 slip on, on to an 06 header? If so what were the differences? I’ve read that it appears the 09 and up have a 1 inch longer header. Is that the only difference in the headers? If so could I not replace my header with one from an 09? What about the mounting brackets? Thanks guys!

I have what was advertised as an '09+ Q4 on my '06. It was picked up used on ebay, and IIRC, when I checked numbers from the silencer it matched the FMF numbers.

If they are 1" longer have 1" piece of stainless of the right diameter welded on your pipe if you find the pipe doesn't fit?
