washable air filter

In lieu of the kawasaki factory air cleaner assembly, does anybody have experience or knowledge regarding a filter of this type? 39MM Clamp-On Universal Motorcycle Air Filter - Kawasaki KLR250, KL250, KMX125 | eBay

I only have the box itself, none of the guts or any of that and my bike is a project with the intent of spending as little money as possible.

If you're doing more dirt riding you'd probably want a foam filter like the Uni. They can be washed and oiled. I drive mainly road so I have a K&N that can also be hosed off and oiled.

interesting. I already have an off-road machine so I dont plan to do much dirt riding with the KLR. i am having issues with cold starting, and I am under the impression that the air filtration system has something to do with that. currently, there is NO air filtration even so much as attached to the carburetor. (project bike!)

If a filter like this will solve my problems, I will buy it
