Default KL250-D2 D3 swingarm question

Anyone know the difference from 85-86 to the later models? All the other part numbers in the image are the same, only the swingarm part numbers differ (33001-1225-P1 vs 33001-1253-CE). Regards

I have an 86 that I found and have rescued from the trash…..In rebuilding it I see the earlier models have the passenger foot pegs mounted directly into the swing arm, and the newer ones have a separate bracket that mounts on the frame with a lug welded onto the newer frames. I am not 100% sure but I think the swing arms are interchangeable, but you will lose the passenger foot peg as the older frames do not have the associated additional lug to mount the newer style foot peg brackets. I have on my bike, a set of Happy Trails rear SU racks, and they require the newer brackets as a mounting point……I had to buy a set of the newer brackets, and cut off the upper mount point to get them on my older 86 frame. Hope that helps a bit.
