one thing after another
I had to replace the pushrod seal and now my oil is milky. I also cannot keep my 95 zx7r running. I put new inline fuel filters in. if the bike sits for a day or 2 it will idle fine but if i ride it boggs out and only runs with the choke wide open.
Do not run Milky Oil. The pushrod seal for the clutch?
We will get to the bog later, but do not run the ride with milky oil.
Welcome to KF
Bike is sitting and drained the oil. I did run it but not even for a min. Hope that's not gonna be a problem. I pulled off the water pump to install the seal. I think this is where the antifreez is getting in the oil.
yes sir, that is normally a weak link. Inspect the impeller while you are in there.
I use cheap dinosaur oil for a few heat cycles for the flush. Then change the filter and oil to what you would normally use. If the impeller was not a stub with all of the vanes missing or nicks/cracks/abrasion, then you should be ok. You would have noticed right away if the impeller was bad.
I do every time I pull off the rack. The tank is off anyways and what is 4 hoses to check the synch? Yes it takes maybe 5 minutes to verify, but mainly a piece of mind because the rack may not have changed or not? If anything, a bad seal on the boots will show during the 5 minute check.
I am not sure what the mechanics do or if it is necessary. The manual states if the rack has been pulled. I crashed in T9 at PIR in the rain just because I did not check and verify the carb synch. I am a firm believer in a simple 5 minute check now.
I have not replaced mine, but here is a fiche showing yours. Kawasaki Motorcycle Parts 1995 ZX750-L3 Ninja ZX-7 RADIATOR Diagram
