And if you just want a normal CDI you an set this one for standard timing. Also it can counter the offset timing that happens when you install an aftermarket CDI which almost always causes timing advance throughout the whole RPM range.

What does it do for a 220?

OK now the link is fixed.
both the 200 and 220 have ignition timing that detunes the high RPM power a bit.

I think many people are scared of harming their engine by changing the timing. But they don't realize that when the timing is too advanced (such as with the KDX) then the power that would of been used to spin the crank faster is now partially used as extra psi on the rod and crank bearings and engine heat. So by retarding the timing to where it should be causes the bearings to last longer and the engine to have less stress by heat.
