iv got a 2005 praire 700 when i go from two wheel drive to four wheel drive the 4x4 light doe's not lite up plus it will not go in to 4x4 where do i start HELP

 

Is that a manual shift or is it electronic? If its electronic, it could be a servo controlled by a fused circuit. If its a manual, it may have got something wedged in it that is preventing it from engaging. First thing I would do would be to get all the side covers and shrouds off the machine, including the seat and racks. There are not a lot of quad guys on this site, but there is a wealth of knowledge here and the guys are top notch when it comes to lending a hand.

It just so happens that I too have a Praire 700 and when I bought it last year it had the same problem. The actuator that moves the coupler was bad, it was full of mud. I think it was spendy to but I got a good deal online here, http://www.kawasakipartsnation.com/.
