mojave 250 engine noise
 

Hello im new to the site and was wondering if anyone could help me out with my bike... I have a 02 mojave 250 there is like a knocking or slapping noise when i put the bike under a load. Like going up hillsat aslower pace,trying to climb over stuff... Normal riding isfine just like starting off and the stuff above make the noise... Seems to be a more of a low rpm noise. Some people have said that it is a common noise for this bike but have not been able to tell me what the cause is. If anybody has any info on what this noise could beI would greatly apprecitate your help.

Just my guess but could be the fuel octane...causing a spark knock.....what octane fuel are you using??? 87 89 90 ??? But I am no Kaw . mechanic......

Ibelieve its 90 maybe 91. Its the highest octaine rating at my gas station...I dont put regular in my bikes... Bike is all stock except for pipe and rejetting but still made noise even before mods
