03 kfx 400 big mods, need help finding electrical problem,, its like a rev limiter on all gears low rpm excpt 1st and 2nd, stator ohms look good and coil pack also, main cpu has been swaped for troubleshooting and gives off same problem,, technical help needed,,,, absolutly clueless mecanics!!!!

 

does it rev cleanly to redline in neutral? does it only do it at a specific temperature? it could be a thermal defect in a trigger coil... could be a mechanical bind...could be a buncha things, boss.

 

clean rev 1ST 2ND and neutral, i fully tested the neutral switch and even bypassed it so the cdi would belive its always in neutral so technically it cant be the cdi? ,,, the cutoff is really clean in 3 4 5 but at a way too low rpm and it really dosnt sound like a feul problem, sounds like a civic lol,,,,, dose it cold or hot, cant be jetting and engine temp does not affect my problem... TPS? Ignition coil? im really ****ed!!!!!!!!!!

 

could e that. alot of the bikes i work on hve an on-board diagnostic mode to test multiple components... does your machine have it?

i don't think its the TPS being that it revs elsewhere in the gearing..you said ya swapped the computer out and same deal.... it's obviously not that... Hhmmm...

probably something really stupid.
did it just all of a sudden start this, or did it happen after some sort of physical shock?

somethin stupid! lol.. well, at least it was an easy fix. thats a weird-*** problem from a plug...
