2002 Mojave stuck in gear
 

I just picked up a 2002 Mojave 250 for $200 because it was stuck in gear. I played with the reverse lever that the cable attaches to and got it into neutral, but it won't go into any gears.
Anyone seen this problem before or have any advise before I pull the motor and try to split the cases??
After I got it into neutral it started first kick! I would love to find some tip or trick that someone may have used before. Runs mint, just won't move anywhere!
