Where the heck is the dipstick?
Hi - I just purchased a Mule 1000 - out the door for $1200 - it seems to run fine - but I kind of hesitate to use it much because I can't kind where the oil dipstick is.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks very much.

RE: Where the heck is the dipstick?
Hey Man I bought the KLX 250 S a year and a half ago, and I found this awesome site that has parts breakdowns. I looked up your machine and it is just like most bikes and ATVs in the fact that there is no dipstick, but rather a Oil filler cap, a sight glass and a drain plug. Here is a picture. And hopefully this link will get you there as well. Good luck.

Hope this helps.

So what you have to do is find a side panel on your machine, or perhaps you can see it under the tailgate or on the side of the motor somewhereand wipe off the dirt on what is called a sight glass that will show you the oil level. I would invest in a manual.

Geez - thanks a lot Deej - that was exactly what I was looking for - I don't think I ever would have found those parts diagrams without your link. Yeah -I bid on a downloadable manual on ebay and won it this afternoon for a buck - can't beat it - if you ever get down to Sinaloa Mexico let me know and I'll invite you to a cerveza.
I appreciate your time Deej.

I realize this thread is super old…. My fingers are crossed 🤞🏻
We are just starting to do some work on our Mule 1000 but can’t find any books or info for anything in it. Do you happen to know what type of oil is used in this machine? And any other important information we might need. Thank you in advance. Feeling a bit lost with where to turn now. 😊🤗
