Mule 3010 diff problem

Mule 3010 diff problem
I have a mule 3010 05 year . Still not used to it . It seems the 2wd will only work when the diff lock is engaged . But it works in 4wd with diff lock disengaged I presume that's as the front is independent from the back . Any ideas ?
