Default Problem Starting 750

I purchased a 1995 kawasaki 750 over the summer. It ran fine. I hadn't started it since labor Day so I went out to run it for a few minutes with the hose attached. It won't turn over at all. The gas tank is down to a quarter tank. Should it have more gas in the tank?
Also, are ether sprays effective to help with starting. Thanks.

Little confusing....
When you say, it's not turning over, does that mean:
1). Starter is turning but the engine is not firing up? or
2). Starter is not able to turn over the engine?

If it is the case 1), yes it doesn't hurt to spray some kind of starting fluid a bit. But you shouldn't have to if the engine is in a good shape. How about the choke? Plugs? etc...

I meant that the starter turns but the engine doesn't fire up. Everything was fine this summer. I didn't start it up for a month so I thought everything would be fine. I will check the plugs and the choke. Thanks for your reply.

If the new/cleaning plugs does not help, check your choke plates (butterfly valve) in the carb throat. When the choke is full on, the choke plates should be fully closed and remain closed. You can check this by removing the flame arrestor/cover on top of the carb. Do not crank more than 5 seconds at a time to avoid burning up of the armature inside the starter. Crank 5-sec, rest 5-sec, crank 5-sec, etc. It would be a good idea to check the cylinder compression which should be 150~180 psi.
Good Luck.

I wanted to give an update from last week. I put some gas into it and instead of continually pushing the start button, I tried it 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off as you suggested. It finally turned over. I used the choke so everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help!
