kawasaki ultra 150 quit and won't start
 

Hey guys,
was using a friends jet ski ultra 150 for the weekend, the ski had trouble starting at first then it started fine and it ripped for 5 minutes before suddenly sputtering and dying in the middle of the lake. when i tried to start it it would turn over a couple times then die which led me to believe the battery was garbage, but i switched the battery from the other jetski and it ran fine with the battery from the ultra so it's obviously not the battery. Now when i try to start it i hear a single loud click coming from the starter relay box, so i ordered a new starter relay and its coming, but i dont see why a bad starter relay would cause the ski to die in the middle of the lake when it was running fine. it had plenty of fuel in the tank, but the fuel filter wasn't very full. any ideas on why it quit or why it won't start besides the relay? hoping its not a starter motor.

**UPDATE*** i got the solenoid, put it in and it still makes the clicking noise.
