1997 750Xi Running rough at high RPM

Hey all,

Firstly this is my first post so hello to all!

I recently purchased a 750Xi & it has been running sweet for a number of weeks now. Its my first ski, and im pretty good mechanically so Im eager to learn as much as I cam about it.
One issue that is bugging me currently is a slight loss of power at the top end, on and off power loss every few seconds. Its not going dead completely but im not letting it do it for long enough to really see what the effect would be. Its almost like a fuel blockage but im not entirely sure... Any pointers would be appreciated.

Also, Id just like to inquire what the acceptable RPM limit is on this machine (my RPM gauge is broken, getting it looked at this week) so I can check that is not over revving.

One last query is about the impeller, Im aware that the current one has had a few stones through it & am looking to replace it with new one. I like having a high top end speed but also dont want to loose too much acceleration.
My current top end is 60kph (I did think it would go faster than this but my GPS dosnt lie)and Im hoping to push that a little more.
What sort of impeller should I be looking at & is it worth the cost, I only use it in fresh water if that makes a difference.

Thanks alot in advance for any info you can provide.

as far as power loss it sounds like a bad coil, imo. welcome to KF, keep us posted
