I know that this is an older post and you probably have solved the problem by now (this is not an active forum... I only check it every few months) .
The Orange key switch has 2 circuits... With the key "on", one circuit is open and serves the same purpose just like the kill button to stop ignition firing (open to run, close to kill). The other will close to deliver 12 vdc to the gauges, etc. This second circuit runs 12 vdc to the "Trim" box, and from there to the CDI.
No spark could be bad contacts in the orange key switch (kill circuit) or bad contacts in the handle bar stop button. Or it could be lack of 12 vdc power to the CDI. Lack of 12 vdc is not an orange switch problem (because you have power to the gauges), but could be wiring thru the Trim box. It would be hard to give detailed wire-by-wire troubleshooting via this forum. You should search for a manual or at least a wiring diagram on-line.

I know this is old thread, If you see this I'm trying to find out about this wire coming from trim box or circuit that is critical to cdi box, is it an orange wire itself? all my stator tests were good. I had spark for a bit the ski actually started and I shut it off and never ran again. I had a weak spark on # 1 cylinder now I have no spark at all. I don't want to replace cdi box if it could be this wire. Any help would be great. Thanks
