My 2000 1100stx runs fine and then goes into an idle mode for awhile and then returns to full speed. While in the idle mode the word "oil" flashes on the dash. Oil is full. Any ideas?

 

hhhmmmm..could be a faulty sensor. When is the last time you changed the oil?

 

Your oil level sensor inside the oil tank is going bad - sticking. You may be able to clean the floats and try again. You can't really run pre-mix on your 2000 direct injection model because oil has to be delievered to the crankcase as well. The reason it goes to idle mode is because the ECU thinks you are running out of oil and it turns into the LIMP HOME mode.
