02 1100 zxi trim problems
Just bought and trim is not working. the kats light doesn't light up and the manual switch is not working either. I checked switch and seems to be ok. is the nozzel on the back supposed to be loose or tight if you move it up or down? it moves freely from left to right. don't know where to start.

RE: 02 1100 zxi trim problems
most likely the trim is screwed to a point to where it's jammed. One way to test is to remove the electrical plus going into the case and take a electrical meter and check for power at the harness plug, not on trim box. This is only accomplished with the unit running as the trim only works when running, so be sure to hook up flush water to run ski while testing. If you have power there you have a problem in the trim box itself.
The ride plate under the pump needs to be removed, the nut holding the cable at the hull needs to be unscrewed. The brass end at the trim bucket needs to be removed. and then go inside the ski and remove the grey trim box and slide it and cable(blue) out of the hull. Then on a bench or table remove the cover to hopefully find a dry box. If so look at the worm gear and see if the unit that runs up and down the worm gear is all the way up or down the gear. If so someone held the button so long it wedgeded it on the end. Take a pair of pliars and turn it the other way to free it. Then apply twelve volts via test wires and battery to see if it moves, most likily it will. If you don't have a way of testing it like that you will have to hook ski wires back to it. Don't forget to install new o-ring at hull where brass nut was removed to get out cable or else it won't work for long. If the unit has excess water and lots of rust. Put box back together, and install in ski, set trim with adjusting the cable end(brass connector screwed onto cable) to the desired position for best performance, and lock the nut and ride. The componentes in this box are expensive and not usually worth putting that much into a used ski.
hope this helps,
Jody

Thank you very much for the response. The people i purchased from had put the ground wire on the positive side of the battery instead on the negative. I read more on this forum to figure that out. Thanks a bunch for this forum.
