Default Sissy bar installation

I am thinking about putting a sissy bar/backrest on a vulcan 900. I realize that it depends a little on brand, but how difficult an install is this?

Also, does any one have model or brand recommendations? Thanks

Default RE: Sissy bar installation

I'm no expert on cruisers and sissy bars. What does the area where you want to mount the bar look like? Are there any mounting bolts/brackets/other existing structures that you can work with? Even scab off of the passenger pad mounting point? Possibly fabricate your own bracket to accomodate your desired bar?
It also depends a little on what you want; do you want to attach any small "pack" or other compartment-type objects on the bar? Do you want the chrome/show look? Is it a 2-up safety kind of mod? There should be plenty of aftermarket bars you can consider for your particular purpose. I'd look at what purpose you have in mind, consider the mounting points, and probably fabricate as needed to meet your needs.
Hope this helps.

Default RE: Sissy bar installation

The frame under the rear fender has two bolts per side. I am not worried about the structural aspects, I am more interested to know if installing a sissy bar on a vulcan 900 is as easy as it looks.

I like the MC Enterprises sissy bar and pad for the v900. If anyone has this bar, tell me what you think.
