Runs great for 5 mins, then bogs and wont take load. Continues to idle
Heya all,
This project has me stumped. I have a 78 KE100 that will run GREAT for 5 minutes until it gets hot then suddenly bog right down, refuse load completely. If I pull over it will idle just fine. If I let it cool off for 30 mins it will run great again until its hot.
Otherwise it's running better than it did 15 years ago. Starts first kick, idles great, very snappy throttle. Hits the powerband easily and takes my little *** to 60 mph no problem.
Help!
I almost ordered a coil for it just now but figured I would ask yall for advice first. Besides I don't like the look of the ebay coils.
Bike's history:
My childhood bike. Sat for 15 years in the garage until this summer when I pulled it out and started working on it.
So far I have :
Cleaned points
sanded all connections
cleaned and repacked exhaust
cleaned carb x12
new fuel and oil lines
oiled all cables.
And lots more. I plan on doing a full restoration as soon as I get it running decent.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Ill keep an eye on this thread and respond.
Thank you
