Possible bad master cylinder?

Been a long time since I have been on the board but i gots me a problem. Long story short the front brakes are non functional. No big deal i thought, ill just bleed em and be done with it. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. Below are the steps i took and the results. Has me thinking the master cylinder is shot. I am using THIS vacuum bleeder

2005 Ninja 636

1. removed cap from front brake fluid reservoir and filled to about 1/4 from the top

2. connected vacuum bleeder to the bleed valve and built up pressure

3. opened bleed valve and was able to bleed a small amount maybe 2-3oz of fluid before getting nothing, the reservoir is still over 1/2 full of fluid and the vacuum bleeder is holding pressure.

4. close bleed valve

At this point if I attempt to bleed the brakes manually (by opening the valve and pumping the brake lever) as soon as i open the bleeder valve the brake fluid that has been sucked into the MC rushes back up into the reservoir and overflows it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any responses. :)
