Default Overheat or oil probs??

Ok....I just got this bike about 3 weeks ago. I went for a ride last night and after about 1 hour of riding, i felt the bike getting hot. Then i saw the oil light turn on, and the bike immdediately turned off. I don't recall ever hearing my fan kick on at all. After about 20 mins of cooling off, i could ride a bike a little, then it would shut off again. Any ideas??

Unfamiliar with the 5 bars please explain 5 out of haw many and is that your temp gauge?

Also if your fan did not come on check the thermostat that is located on the radiator. Mine is on the left side but our bike are different. It should have 2 wires going to it. Use a wire jumper or something to make contact between the wires and it should turn on your fan. Make sure the key and run switch is on. This will tell you if your fan is good or not. Most are set to turn on at about 220 F.

Also is there fluid in your radiator?
